Five calm games for winding down at night
Not every game needs to spike your heart rate. Sometimes the best thing on your phone before bed is something slow and quiet, and mobile has more of those than people realise.
Hollow Tide tops my list. Drifting a small boat through fog with no combat and gentle puzzles is oddly soothing. I've fallen asleep mid-session more than once, which here is a compliment.
I also lean on tidy puzzle games like Glyph Garden on easier settings, where the challenge is pleasant rather than stressful. The trick is avoiding anything with a loud timer or aggressive notifications.
If you struggle to put your phone down at night, pick games that don't push you to keep playing. Ironically, those are the ones I enjoy most.
